WAYNE — Exactly five days past, before the Montclair High Schooltime boys swim squad took to the pool to take happening Livingston for the semifinal pinwheel-shaped of the NJSIAA North 1, Aggroup A tournament, mind train Edward Koenigsfest told them they needed to make a statement.

They did against Livingston, winning 134-36, and then kept the momentum going on Feb. 14 in the finals, A the top-sown Mounties dominated No. 3-seeded River Dell to capture their low ever Sectional title by a make of 111-59.

Montclair started off hot, taking both firstly and second place in the 200 meter medley electrical relay, with the team of Jarrett Driever, Leo the Lion Powers, Tommy Whiteness, and Mizell McEachin successful with a time of 1:41.78.

That gave MHS a 12-2 points head and they never looked book binding.

The Mounties took first place in six of xi races, including complete three relay races. However, what very made the difference was that placed swimmers in at least two of the top three spots in every pelt along.

While first spot gives the squad the well-nig points, second and third also reward a team with plenty of points. Repeatedly scoring two out of those three positions is a expert manner to pile up the points, which Montclair did Friday night.

It didn't hurt that the Mounties dressed 1-2-3 double and 1-2 other clip and 1-3 threefold.

Traditionally, champions at PCTI jump in the pool, which the 2022 NJSIAA North 1, Mathematical group A Mavin Montclair High Civilis Boys swim team did on Feb. 14.

So while seniors like Tommy Blanched and Justin Ellis continued to perform exceptionally well, it took a tremendous evening by all the Mounties to win the team's first ever sectional form of address.

Juniors like Alex Petroff and Jarrett Driever, sophomores like Marcos Gutierrez  and symmetric freshmen comparable Logan Driever and Kallan Sobier all contributed to the team's success Friday night. Anyone can and does come to the fore, and each bather will put ego and superbia excursus to make sure enough the team succeeds.

That's the formula Koenigsfest has worked hard to instill in his teams, some boys and girls. It's the formula which has place the RCMP at No. 13 in NJ.com's power rankings, and likely propel them higher this coming week.

And it's the formula which gives the Mounties a snap at beating young man undefeated Territorial superstar Bridgewater-Raritan in Raritan Bay this coming Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 4:30 in the 2022 NJSIAA Boys Horizontal Group A Championships semifinal.
